Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) was a Dutch painter whose expressive brushwork, vivid color, and emotional intensity made him one of the most influential artists in history. Though largely unrecognized during his lifetime, his work would go on to inspire generations of artists and become some of the most celebrated and recognizable paintings ever created.
