Henri Rousseau
Henri Rousseau (1844–1910) was a self-taught French artist whose imaginative paintings and distinctive style made him one of the most unique figures of modern art. Often drawing inspiration from botanical gardens, illustrated books, and his own imagination, Rousseau created vivid dreamlike worlds that would later inspire artists such as Pablo Picasso and the Surrealists.
